About:
Jeff is a lifelong veteran of the fishing industry. After graduating from South Dakota State University in 1994, he went to work for the South Dakota Game, Fish, & Parks, then moved to Minnesota to work for the Hunting & Fishing Library — where he met Human Big Mike and became lifelong friends!
In 1997, he took a job with In-Fisherman and served as an editor and photographer for over 22 years. During that time he penned hundreds of articles and traveled throughout North America, capturing thousands of images used on the covers and pages of their magazines. He also played an integral role in In-Fisherman television, radio, books, and videos.
For 12 years, he served as the Digital Editorial Director for Outdoor Sportsman Group, which includes: In-Fisherman, Florida Sportsman, Fly Fisherman, Game & Fish and bassfan.com.
Currently, Jeff is the Digital Media Director for Lindner Media, leading the group’s digital media growth and new endeavors across all the company’s brands, such as Lindner’s Angling Edge, Lindner’s Fishing Edge, The Ontario Fishing Experience, AnglingBuzz, The Lund Boats Ultimate Fishing Experience, and FISHhead.TV.
He has always acknowledged that it’s been a pretty sweet gig.
Over 23 years ago and counting, he invented the Salmo Chubby Darter, which is an ultra-sweet life for a lure. The bait was the first of its kind for ice fishing and created a new category of ice fishing lures and a cult-like following for those in the know. Hundreds of thousands sold and thousands purchased annually to this day. Jeff also designed the Bigtooth Tackle Zero Rig. It’s the best quick-strike rig ever created (even though that’s a tad over overzealous of a claim). However, you’ll miss less fish and catch more using the Zero Rig. He’s also invented other stuff.
Packed with one liners and a confirmed prankster, most agree that he’s pretty funny when he’s not so serious.
